Gerlos

The lovely resort of Gerlos is situated at an altitude of 1300 metres in the heart of the Gillertal Arena region of the Austrian Alps. With 163 kilometres of well maintained pistes ascending to an altitude of 2,505 metres, this area is just about as snow sure as you get. There is a new snow park to please freestyle enthusiasts, as well as an efficient, well-run lift system so that visitors can access all of the varied and exciting terrain on offer. There are cross country skiing tracks for those who prefer a slower pace but still want to improve their fitness. Those wanting to try something truly different can try horse riding through the snow, tobogganing, paragliding or simply lace up their snow shoes and explore the pretty paths which wind through the forests. Holiday makers wanting to experience the real taste of Austria will adore trying out one of the local restaurants serving traditional regional fare, and party animals are also well catered for with a selection of popular bars and night clubs around the town.
